Productive Summer OOTD

Elleword - Productive Summer OOTD

Yesterday I got lots of work done for a new video based class that I’m going to teach on Skillshare as a way to make passive income. It’s the first of many! I recorded myself working as well as an intro and conclusive video. Now all that’s left are the voiceovers. I hope to finish those before my interview today for a part time marketing assistant gig.

I wore a thrifted Rue 21 peach colored top with lace netting on the shoulders. My skater skirt is from my lounge and fitness thrift haul. I felt so flirty and cute in this. I wore brown wedge shoes (not shown) as Brandon and I hit the Salvation Army to buy supplies for the camping trip I’m chaperoning next week.

Gone on any thrift shops lately? I’d love to see what you bought. Leave me a link or comments below.

One Week after Quitting my Job OOTD

I left the corporate world to focus solely on my company and personal endeavors. It’s only been seven days but some pretty amazing things have already happened!

Savor Dallas Garden Party

Tonight I’ll be attending the Savor Dallas Garden party, curtesy of Fun City Stuff DFW. They are calling this event a ‘mega happy hour’ that includes art, food and wine. This is the first of several events that will be put on by Savor Dallas this week.

Fun City Stuff is the go-to source for fun events happening in North Texas. They also run contexts and give reviews of these events via their website. I’ve been given the privilege of blogging my experience at Savor Dallas tonight! I’m so geeked, this is the first time I’ll be guest posting on a popular site for locals. I can’t wait to share the results with you! Aside from blogging, I’m going to vlog my experience for my Youtube Channel so stay tuned!

Meanwhile, I found this beautiful strapless dress that I turned into a skirt for today’s ootd. It was only 1.50 at the thrift store! After refashioning it and paring it with a thrifted top that I already own, I came up with this little number.

This may be my favorite ootd yet! What do you think of this one? Are you gals attending any parties this weekend?

Aug. 28 OOTD: Friday Freedom

It was another tough day at work, juggling two jobs at once but I made it through without too much complaining, lol. I’m very excited about my OOTD today because it included a skirt that I made myself. The skirt used to be attached to a vintage puffy sleeved long dress that may have been work by an old lady in the 90s at some point, lol. It was pretty overwhelming on the eyes but I cut the bottom half off and added elastic to the waistband to refashion it into a flowy skirt. I’m really happy with how it turned out. Brandon helped me put this OOTD together since I couldn’t find my glasses this morning. We paired it with a thrifted Old Navy denim top, a leather belt and my nude shoes from Target. My bag is from Charming Charlie.  What do you think?

August 17th OOTD: Stripes and Floral

My husband loves when I wear the color pink. He also loves anything skirts and dresses so I decided to combine both of those for my OOTD on Monday. It may sound cheesy, but I like to think that when he looks at me, he likes what he sees. I also strive to wear things that make me feel positively about myself and this was definitely a winner on both sides. It kind of reminds me of the 90s mixed with today’s style. A lovely librarian, a substitute teacher that all the kids like. These are the kinds of images and feelings that I got when I wore this. What do you think of?

The top is from Banana Republic divided at the waist by my brown Old Navy Belt. I got this vintage skirt from a thrift store and my earrings from Charming Charlie. The necklace costed $1 from a costume jewelry shop at the mall.

June 22nd OOTD: It’s Monday Again

Today was a pretty slow day work wise. I was glad because I stayed up until 3am finishing my twists. I hope these last for awhile. It’s going to be nice not having to do my hair everyday. Today I decided to be comfortable and feminine. I went with this gathered black top from New York & Company and this tie-dye skirt from the thrift store. It was made by a company called Alberto Makali. I finished it off with some flat black shoes but I didn’t bother putting them on for these shots. I guess you’ll have to use your imagination.

5.28.15 OOTD: Flower Power

Today I wore two floral items, both of which are thrift store items. To create a visual break between patterns I added a leather belt from my New York & Company jacket. I topped it off with my DSW wedges. I had a good day at work. I think I impressed my boss with how fast I was getting things done today. While I still have a day job, I’m just going to do my best and get as much knowledge and experience as I can. Let me know what you think of my OOTD. My watch is from Guess by the way. My husband bought it for me when he got a raise at work. He’s got a coordinating rose gold watch as well.

Have courage!

4.9.15 Today’s Outfit (Weekly Wardrobe Capsule)

Today I decided to dress up a bit. I grabbed my star ear rings and bejeweled necklace, both from Charming Charlie. Sticking with the layering theme, I wore my tiger print tee from the Salvation Army with my button up textured collared shirt from Banana Republic. To keep it on the formal side, I tucked my Banana shirt in but left it un-buttoned to reveal the tiger print. Then I finished it off with my black bow pencil skirt, a gift from my Mom a few years ago. My husband really liked this outfit, so I plan to do some repeats in the future. What do you think? Post your thoughts in the comment section below.
