I’m at the point in this 365 project where taking a pic each day is a little bothersome but I’m going to keep going. I’ve realized that I’m most happy with the project when I use my DSLR instead of my phone. It takes a lot of mental effort some days since I have to set my camera up on a tripod, prep the remote trigger and try to figure out what to do in the pic. Not to mention, my tripod is literally falling apart! woo sahhhhhh.
It’s time like these when I try to shake things up with lighting and location. I’ve been shooting in my apartment most of the time but as the weather changes, I will make it a point to get outside for more colorful shots with plenty of background details.
Today I had a lot of energy so I put all I had into attacking the clutter in my apartment. It’s a good thing too, since I had a mountain of clothes to wash. Midway through, I started singing along to Spotify and thought, hey, get this on camera. I even used my DSLR! I still need to put away about 40% of the now clean clothes but at least I have more wardrobe options again! Aside from laundry, I’ve been doing a lot of correspondence with clients and edits for commissioned work. This month has been pretty good for business!
It’s getting cold outside and that air blows up and down the hallways of our building. When I go to the gym, I put on layers so I don’t freeze on my way in and out. When I took this pic, I was pretty tired from jumping on the elliptical. Haven’t gotten my pre-thanksgiving stamina back yet!
We spent the evening at the home of a really kind couple (they are on the far left). A lot of Brandon’s co-workers were there so we took this pic before the end of the night. We went for the first time last year and had a blast so I was happy they invited us again. We made sure to leave gift bottle of Bellini. Turns out, its our hostesses’ favorite! Afterwards, we made our way back to our side of town and I paid the rent for my shared studio space. Gotta order some new checks pronto!
We forgot to renew our registration so I had to get our ride inspected. The dealership has a nice waiting area and free coffee/coacoa. Once I got to the motor vehicles office, I only waited for about 5 minutes before it was my turn. Didn’t expect that to happen!
I needed to get back to business so I posted up at my local chamber of commerce and did some admin work. Guess the vacation is officially over! Now I’ve gotta re-train my brain to focus after having so many days off in Saint Louis. I’m falling back into my morning routine pretty well though. Not so much can be said of my evening routine yet.
This time next week I’ll be in Saint Louis with family we haven’t visited in a long time. I hope we can make some great memories and relax. My goal is to keep Brandon from trying to work while we’re there.
The wind and rain rattled my windows for most of the day like a sound machine set on repeat. It was relaxing, a little too relaxing. I spent most of the day staring at my laptop, sitting on the sofa. Outside of the gym, I didn’t leave my apartment the entire day. It was kinda nice and kinda stressful. Whenever I sit around for a few hours, I end up thinking about how I’m not getting anything productive done. Then I get a little anxious but my body seems to forget to move. I call it the couch trap. You know, when you can look around and see the work that needs to be done but your body seems glued to the couch cushions. You won this round couch, but tomorrow’s another day!!
I didn’t get down to the gym in time so I didn’t have as much time on the elliptical as I had hoped but I did manage to break a sweat. Getting my heart rate up and sweating is my main goal in the morning. Then I do a little stretching, I’m trying to get back to doing the splits! My head gets all shiny but since I wear layers, I can’t quite tell where else I perspire as I’m working out. I’m glad because I don’t want wet stains on my shirts and tights!
I experimented with a slow shutter after sunset to get this shot. The blue glow is the light from my AC unit 🙂 This morning I got up at a good time but my routine got slowed down a bit. Brandon didn’t have to go to work until a little later than usual so we spent some quality time together.
