I’m at the point in this 365 project where taking a pic each day is a little bothersome but I’m going to keep going. I’ve realized that I’m most happy with the project when I use my DSLR instead of my phone. It takes a lot of mental effort some days since I have to set my camera up on a tripod, prep the remote trigger and try to figure out what to do in the pic. Not to mention, my tripod is literally falling apart! woo sahhhhhh.
It’s time like these when I try to shake things up with lighting and location. I’ve been shooting in my apartment most of the time but as the weather changes, I will make it a point to get outside for more colorful shots with plenty of background details.
Sometimes you just gotta keep going, keep working, keep trying, even when the sun goes down. The more productive I become, the more proactive I realize I need to become. Next year, I want to put myself in front of hundreds of couples and women via pictures and videos. Anyone whose had to make videos alone knows that it’s a time consuming pain in the butt. But (hahah) people love to watch videos because they make us feel like we are getting to know the person on the screen. Hence, I just have to woman up, record, edit and post my work consistently.
To celebrate their first year of marriage, my clients booked a photoshoot together. The weather has been rainy and cold lately so I asked my good friend Brandi of B Grand Events for help. She helped us set up a session at the Downtown Dallas Westin Hotel. She also took this picture of me in action! Both myself and my clients were grateful to have such a lovely spot to work in.
I have been focusing my blogger brain on getting my 365 photos taken each day but I miss my OOTD and capsule wardrobe posts. I guess with the holidays and work, I’ve been too swept up in getting my life in order. Don’t worry, fashion shall return!!
I almost forgot to take today’s picture! This project has been fun and annoying so far but I’m enjoying pushing myself to do this each day. It forces me to try something different and document a little part of my day. Over time, I’ll be able to look back on a year in pictures! I need to use my DSLR camera more for this project however. I didn’t bother setting up an interesting view/pose but it still looks pretty interesting I think. My phone camera sucks so the contrast was pretty harsh, I decided to just make it black and white.
I didn’t get down to the gym in time so I didn’t have as much time on the elliptical as I had hoped but I did manage to break a sweat. Getting my heart rate up and sweating is my main goal in the morning. Then I do a little stretching, I’m trying to get back to doing the splits! My head gets all shiny but since I wear layers, I can’t quite tell where else I perspire as I’m working out. I’m glad because I don’t want wet stains on my shirts and tights!
I experimented with a slow shutter after sunset to get this shot. The blue glow is the light from my AC unit 🙂 This morning I got up at a good time but my routine got slowed down a bit. Brandon didn’t have to go to work until a little later than usual so we spent some quality time together.
After turning off all my electronic devices at 9:30, a new habit I’m starting, I began reading Rise and Grind by Daymond John last night. It’s been great so far, easy to stay interested in the content and pretty motivating. Have a read and let me know if it inspires you too!
