Whenever a new year starts, Brandon (the hubster) and I tend to participate in a spiritual activity to help us reboot and re-focus. This year, it’s the 21 day Daniel fast. Aside from avoiding certain foods, we are writing in journals daily, praying and getting in some personal worship time with God. This is day two and I am feeling very positive about it so far. At first, avoiding sugar, fried food, meat and dairy seemed difficult but we’ve found some good solutions. I didn’t realize how many products contained added sugars, bleached wheat or chemicals (like tortillas, salad dressing and even some canned fruits). It’s no wonder people have so many health issues these days. There are so many junk foods out there disguised as healthy choices that it’s ridiculous. Continue reading “Fasting and Furniture”
There are moments when you’re reminded of how wonderful someone is.
My husband received his yearly bonus at work and had planned on buying a Surface Pro but after a few things came up, we weren’t going to be able to purchase it along with the accessories that he wanted. He decided to try again some other time and use the money for other things. Two weeks ago, he told me not to make any plans for the weekend of the 14th because he had a surprise for me. I also had to avoid checking the bank account or else it would be spoiled. I had no idea how to prepare or what to expect so I just waited excitedly, not sure if he was taking me on a date or perhaps giving me some sort of gift. The week had been a busy one, full of long days of working and helping out at church. There’s two things you can do after a week like that; sleep or do something fun. My husband Brandon and I haven’t gone out in a little while so we decided to go on a whatever’s clever date. We call it that because you spend the day trying new things or going somewhere you haven’t been before as long as it looks fun or interesting. We’ve been here for a year and are finally able to go out and explore what’s around us. This date was a G-baby date, meaning I got to decide where we were going and what we did for the day. I wanted to purposely address another area in my life that could always benefit from more effort. Adding to that list of goals, I am working on being more romantic and thoughtful in my marriage. I can already hear some of you now, that’s his job to romance you. Hear me out will ya?
My husband has been such a good friend to me ever since we started dating five years ago. He does his best to consider my feelings and thoughts when it comes to making big decisions. He is faithful to God and to me. When I think about that, I have to remember the times before we met. I won’t go down the list, they aren’t worth mentioning, but I will say this. My husband is truly the best man I know and having him in my life is a big deal. In a world full of ‘independent women’ I’m not ashamed to say that I love my husband and that we are co-dependent on God and each other. That being said, I want to make sure he knows that I appreciate him. Continue reading “The Romance Movement”
Do it together 🙂 Shout out to all the couples in love out there! If you enjoy going on spontaneous dates, try doing the love lotto. List 10 locations and 10 dollar amounts on slips of paper. These are your lotto tickets! Make sure the location and cash tickets are easy to identify. We used two types of patterned paper for ours. Fold them up and place them in a bowl or container.

If I hadn’t taken a pic everyday, I wouldn’t believe it. We are 68 days into 2014 already!! I got delayed on posting my next video because a bunch of stuff has started. For the next couple of weeks, both Brandon and my schedules are going to be jam-packed!
We basically have every Tuesday-Friday night booked with church sponsored activities from now until April. It’s been really tough trying to find time to relax or spend together outside of a class since we both have full-time jobs but thankfully, our days are going to be freed up once these classes end in 3 weeks. I’m looking forward to having time to cook dinner again because right now, dinner means whatever we can grab out of the kitchen or pick up on our way to church, hahah. But aside from dinner options, we’ve really enjoyed our time at church. Continue reading “It’s March Already?”
