We are a few days away from closing out 2015. Seems like it was only a few months ago that I was making affirmations for 2015. Lots of great things happened this year, while there were bumps along the way, and I figured that now is as good a time as any to look back and see if I kept up with my affirmations that were set in January.
A1: Get to work
This one was about getting back into shape and getting promoted at work. As far as my health goes, I’ve lowered my cholesterol and started tracking my food/steps with a Fitbit. It’s really motivating, I can’t let the day go by without getting in my 10,000 steps, even if I have to jog in place in my apartment. As far as work is concerned, well I reached that goal with flying colors! I prayed and worked, and prayed, and put my requests in writing to my employers. Long story short, I got a 10,000 raise this year along with a small commissions opportunity! I also established my LLC. Not too shabby huh?
A2: Preserve the sexy (don’t laugh!)
This one was about looking my best and eating based on a Mediterranean diet. I’m not quite disciplined to eating the right things yet. I need a better strategy to help me succeed, like meal prep and only buying healthy stuff so I can’t reach for the sugary foods in times of weakness. As far as looks, well, I’m working on mastering the weekly style capsule as well as creating a bunch of looks with what’s in my closet. I am currently avoiding shopping for clothes for the next 7 months in order to perfect this skill. I’ve also taken a break from stress (lol) by cutting my hair again. I look great everyday and feel great because I don’t have to worry about what my hair looks like, it’s gone, hahah. Many of my friends and family have told me that my face and head look great, hair not required, so that’s a confidence boost!
A3: Everything is going to be alright. God’s got it.
This one is about trusting God more and stressing less. I feel like I did a pretty good job with this one but I need to improve my prayer life and time reading the Bible. I find that listening to the scriptures is pretty effective when it comes to hearing the stories. I’d like to listen to them more often along with some sermons and then go back and meditate on the verses that spoke to me. As a ministry leader, I need to make sure that I’m in constant contact with God so I can be in tune with what He wants me to do. I feel like I’m finding my own way to share the Gospel of Christ with others the more I seek Him for myself.
